Goddess Chengalamma Parameswari manifested herself in the village of Sullurpeta and the temple for her was built on the bank of the Kanlangi River. History tells us that it was established during the fourth and fifth centuries. People also refer to her as the village goddess “Tenkali”. With the passage of time, she is being worshipped regularly by devotees as Chengalamma. Devotees turn up in large number to witness “Chengalamma Jatara” (fair) and it is famous pilgrimage temple for both andhrapradesh and tamilnadu people.mainly, tamilnadu people were worship the goddess "tenkali".it was famous temple in south coastal india.

“Chengalamma Jatara” will be conducted once in seven years
Friday and Sundays are the special days; more devotees will come and worship the Chengalamma on these days.

Chengalamma temple timings:
Temple opens in all times. Main temple door never closed. Devotees can visit the temple anytime.
